About this Blog

I have so many pet peeves when it comes to food. I just cannot stand imperfectly cooked dishes, forget trying them (not to mention the urge of wanting to tell the cook what they should have done differently, in spite of them beaming at you with pride and confidence!!).

As a kid (or actually even now ;) ) I hate it when my mom declares to someone that I like a particular dish and that person forces me to eat 'their version' of it. But well, what she does not mention is that the statement has too many 'conditions apply**' to it :P

1. Maybe only when made by a certain person
2. When made only in the one specific 'perfect' way
3. Has to have a certain list of ingredients
4. Cannot have unnecessary 'special' ingredients
5. Conditions change according to the specific dish in question!!!

Dont get me wrong, I mean no offense. I completely appreciate the gesture and love. I am just picky when it comes to food.

This blog is dedicated to my Aji (Grandma).  I grew up learning how to cook from her,  for the most part. (Of course also my mom!). She was a perfectionist and quite modern for her generation. And take my word her food was perfect, I would not change a thing about it (Not even add extra salt on my plate :P).

So here is my blog, where I write about things that my Aji made, recipes recreated from memory of something that I tasted and liked and of course dishes I love (and think I have perfected). Theres a lot of elaborate instructions on ingredient preparation as well as the procedure! Hope that does not intimidate you :P I have just tried my best to describe every detail to make the dish perrrrfecctttt!! Hope you enjoy reading and cooking :)
